Listen, Act, Transform

Welcome to our group practice where two highly skilled clinicians came together to provide excellence in care to our patients. Below is a brief description of each of our group's therapists. Dr. Teshana James Soldiew, Psy.D. Clinical Psychologist Private Practice "My Authenticity brought to a therapeutic alliance with patients based on trust and respect is the cornerstone to meaningful change in one's life and the healing process" My empathic and compassionate personality influences my approach to therapy with my patients. I help in alleviating the suffering that emanates from various mental and medical conditions experienced by patients. I play a vital role in promoting the development of their mental and behavioral health which empowers them to conquer their weaknesses and improve their strengths. As a graduate of both New York University and Capella University, my background includes a breadth of experience and residency training in hospital and private settings in clinical psychology and neurology inclusive of various modalities of therapy as I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Individual Therapy and Holistic Therapy. I provide therapy for individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, grief, addiction, neurocognitive disorders, sleep apnea. When human beings experience severe life stressors, their lives unravel. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic or stressful experiences both psychologically and medically. I guide them towards finding healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their inner being so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, and whole. Thermal Biofeedback treatment implemented for anxiety, depression, insomnia, and migraine/ tension headaches. Clinical Neuropsychology Specialty: Some believe the human mind and the human body are two separate entities. Mental health and physical health are deeply connected as they are all transpiring as a part of brain activity. Physical problems to the body cause stress-induced changes to the brain leading to mood disorders and neurological diseases. The body and the brain are both extremely responsive to change resultant of the adaptability of mental and physical health. It's that same adaptability that will allow anything you do to take care of yourself to have power to trigger a snowball effect of positive changes in your body. With clinical training in how injuries and illnesses of the brain affect cognitive and behavioral functions, Neuropsychological evaluations are implemented including assessments of intelligence, memory, executive functioning, attention, concentration, sensorimotor function, language and orientation. • Consults with other professionals about patients' neurological conditions. • Designs rehabilitation plans for patients with cognitive dysfunction. •. Diagnoses and treats neurocognitive conditions involving injury to the central nervous system, such as cerebrovascular accidents, aneurysm, degenerative diseases, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), demyelinating diseases, and various forms of dementing illnesses including Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, Chemo brain, Multiple Sclerosis. •. Referrals are provided for cognitive rehabilitation/ cognitive remediation as warranted. Erin Slattery, LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker Private Practice My name is Erin Slattery, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California with over 15 years experience in the field. I have worked in many different settings in a variety of roles including therapist/counselor, case manager and medical social worker, with individuals (adults/seniors, children/teens) and families of all ages from a variety of diverse backgrounds. I have assisted my patients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives helping them through the turmoil of intense stressors. I believe my unique set of varied experiences, especially the comprehensive medical based background, sets me apart in the therapeutic community, especially with the aging population (middle to aged). I have an enhanced awareness and appreciation for the role of acute and chronic illnesses in the lives of my patients and I understand the complex nature of the mind-body connection. I would describe my approach as goal oriented, empathetic, motivating, warm/kind and client centered. My approaches to therapy are more hands-on, practical approaches to problem-solving. You are positioned as the expert in your life and me as the supportive helper who can provide useful tools for coping and change. The goals of therapy are ultimately unique to you and your situation, and we will identify these goals as we work together to improve the quality of your life. Some of the ways we can overcome certain turmoil in our lives, is to change our patterns of thinking or behavior regarding difficult situations, which will ultimately change the way we feel and how we respond to these situations, both internally and externally. I am a strong believer that small successful changes will equal larger significant changes in our lives over time. I also understand that sometimes to accomplish these changes we need a little help, in the form of encouragement, identification and problem solving of obstacles that stand in our way. Seeking help can be a courageous decision to make and a vulnerable step to take as you strive for a happier and more fulfilling life. If you are ready to take that first step, I am here to support and empower you. We look forward to working with you and being a part of your healing journey!
